error loading gzip file

            Description

            I get:

            WARNING: BGZF file has invalid uncompressedLength: -1051580223
            java.lang.RuntimeException: BGZF file has invalid uncompressedLength: -1051580223

            when I try to load the chp sample files in genometryImpl/test/data.
            They are gzipped, and the gzip utility was able to unzip them, so the files seem to be valid.

            There is code that determines if the gzip is regular or blocked, I don't know
            if that is the problem.
