testing usability of click-drag to change track height

    Details

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed (View Workflow)
    • Priority: Critical
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Labels:
      None
    • Environment:

      IGB 6.7 (trunk)

      Description

Please test click-drag to change track heights usability. Test with multiple tracks as well as tracks that do not have a lot of annotations in them. Test with bedgraphs, bams, annotations.

For examples of tracks without a lot of data, you could use the non-coding RNA data sets from the IGB QL site - these are sparse in comparison to the protein-coding models.

Looks great EXCEPT you should not be able to change height of the coordinate axis (and it seems like that might be affecting the track(s) touching it)

            V.13819, Mac, Java 1.7.0_10

            This feature displays unexpected behavior.

Dragging the edges of track labels, will adjust the height of the track and resize the size of the track in the main viewer.

            • The proportion by which tracks are adjusted is not concurrent with the amount the edge is dragged by the user.
            • When 'enlarging' the track height (raising the top or lowering the bottom of the track) it does so by increments brought about by multiple click-drag operations
            • The same idea applies when 'lowering' the track height (lowering the top or raising the bottom of the track)
            • The lowest possible 'Stack Height' I was able to make out of the gene models of H. sapiens Feb, 2009 was 2, when it should be able to go down to 1

This was tested with different types of files such as bams and vcfs and beds.

Resizing a annotation track would increase/decrease the height buy adding/removing number of visible rows in it i.e. it would be always in multiple of height of one row.

So it would not match up the amount of label being resized.

            Passed V.13820, Mac, Java 1.7.0_10

This function works as Hiral described. It will adjust 'Stack Height' based on available space or by one row of the track at a time.

The lowest 'Stack Height' is dependent on the size of the track label.
