PDF export should take dimensions from figure

            Description

            Currently, the PDF export uses the standard page size, rather than the size of the picture being saved. Would be nice if it used the picture dimensions.

                  I'm assigning this to Nick since he has been working on the zoom stripe transparency issue, which is related to export. Let's take a look at the library we are using to make the images. What other useful features can we get from it? Last but not least, let's examine how the images look when exported on Windows, Mac, Linux.
