      Description

Open A. Thal, Zoom in until you see a multi exon gene. Using shift + click, select each exon individually. Make sure the count in the selection info box (upper right) is correct. The, again using shift + click, click on an intro to ALSO select the whole gene - this should properly increment the count by 1.

      Oct 1, 2010 - Alyssa Gulledge

version 6.4 (6969). This works as it should. Of note, if you click on one of the exons and then shift/click the entire gene you do get a selection count of 2; it is possible to select an individual exon within the gene, as well as the gene itself - and the selection count will reflect this.

            Description Add to User Guide:
After selecting a gene or element within the viewer, the lower left corner of the IGB window will show you the name of the selected item. If you add a second selection, shift+click, the lower left corner will now indicate how many items you have selected. If you select the whole gene, it will count only as one item and not as the sum of the parts. If you do select a region within the gene, as well as the whole gene, then the count in the lower left corner will indicate that you have 2 items selected.

            Test Case Description
Open A. Thal, 2009, Bioviz (quick) TAIR9 ALL, whole chr.
Zoom in until you see an entire gene.
Select whole gene. Lower lef of IGB window should show the name of the gene.
Shift click a second gene (by clicking on the thin lines connecting the boxes).
The lower left should now say "2 selections"
