After poking around, it seems like this occurred in mouse and human but not plant.

To reproduce, load A thal Tair10. Search for at1g07350. Click item in list. Then change to homo sapiens, click off the server search, then search term eg or ex. The list has the same annotation listed twice but upon clicking the item in the list, you get two slightly different selections in the view. The same thing will occur in mouse, but NOT plant.

Could it be searching both the reference sequences AND the cytoband file, thus returning 2 results?

OK - so this occurs in ANY species genome - even plant.

The first species/genome searched will always be fine and return single results. However, the SECOND, third, etc genome/species will return doubles results - so it is not the cytobands...

If you click the first time the feature is listed vs the second time, you will get a different image in the window, with a slightly smaller 'hit box'?

I am having hard time reproducing it. Can you give me exact species, steps and search terms ?

1. open A. Thaliana
2. go to search, (uncheck the server button)
3. search '7350'
4. go back to data access, chose homo sapiens, latest genome
5. go to search, uncheck the server box
6. search 'ex'

This can be repeated by opening up one of the species/genomes that 'doubles', search for anything, get a search list returned with single listings. THEN switch to another genome that 'doubles', and search for anything - you get doubled returns.

Genomes that double up (that I have found so far) seem to all be 'autoload' for ref sequence - but NOT all autoloads! Currently, I have identified mouse, human, A thal, rat, dog, chicken, cow, corn.... working on the full list - I will updat in the comments as i find more
