Subject: Persisting "color by" track options

      Mason,

Trust all is well. We have been using the "quick load" functionality of IGB and it is working out great. We find ourselves with a follow-on question:

Is it possible to persist the "Color by/score"heat map setting for a track? If so how. Right now we are having to reapply these settings every time we open our datasets.

Let me know if you need any more information from our end about this question, and thanks.

            Hey David,

It is nice to hear from you again. I am actually not aware of a way to persist the Color by score heat map setting for a track, but I do understand how that could be convenient for anyone that uses the heatmap editor. I will look into this further and discuss this with the rest of the team to see if we can find a solution for you. Thanks again for contacting me about this, I will let you know what I find out.

            Thanks again,

            Hello again David,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I discussed your issue over with the rest of the IGB team and, unfortunately, there is currently no way to persist the Color by Score heatmap setting for a track. We did think that this would be a great addition to the program though, so we have created a story in our issue-tracking website for us to work on in the near future. If you wish to view the story and any possible updates on the issue, you can view it here:

            https://jira.transvar.org/browse/IGBF-1112

We hope that this issue has not caused you much frustration in your work. Hopefully, we will be able to resolve this problem for you by the next major release of IGB. If you wish to provide us with anymore feedback, we would love to hear it. Thanks again for all your support. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

            Sincerely,

            Mason Meyer

            Mason,

Thanks for the follow-up. Might we be able to add to the dev request that it would be nice to also persist 'filer by' options for tracks as well.

We are finding IGB to be a very helpful tool and are looking forward to learning and utilizing its full capabilities. Are there any training opportunities we should know about?

            Thanks again,

            David

            Hello again David,

I have added the feature request for the persistence of the "filter by" option for tracks to the comments of this story:

            https://jira.transvar.org/browse/IGBF-1112

If you happen to run across other areas where persistence of a feature would be useful, please let me know so that we can continue to improve IGB for its users.

Also, there are definitely IGB training opportunities available for you or your entire group if you wish! I would be more than happy to plan a demo or tutorial that meets your needs. If you have any ideas of what you may want to learn from the IGB tutorial, let me know and we can plan around that. If you don't have any specific requests, I can come up with more of a general tutorial that would be useful for someone such as yourself who is already somewhat familiar with IGB. I can prepare a handout for you and I can host the tutorial on Google Hangouts or Skype so that anyone that you want to attend can be invited. Let me know if this works for you or if you had something else in mind. Thanks again for your feedback, David. I look forward to hearing back from you in the near future!

            Sincerely,
