          On one Windows machine, GFF file does not load (at all).
          On another machine, it loads slowly.

          This was discovered when testing for the 9.0.1 release, and it exists in 9.0.0 as well.

          For this task, investigate why loading is so slow.

              In windows: in both 9.0.0 and 9.0.1, it took around 2mins to load a particular region.
