Description
For this on-boarding task, please do the following:
- When you start work on this ticket, move it to the "In Progress" column. Make sure it is assigned to yourself.
- Sign up for a bitbucket account using an "edu" email address, if you have one. Add a comment to this Jira ticket stating the email address you used to sign up for your Bitbucket account. Move the ticket to "Needs first level review" and notify Dr. Loraine or another project admin.
- [~aloraine] or another project admin will then invite you to join the Loraine Lab developer's group in Bitbucket, using the email address you used in the previous step. Monitor that email account for the invitation. When you receive the invitation, accept it. Otherwise, you will not be able to build IGB installers!
When you have been invited, the project admin will add a note to this ticket, move it back to the To-Do column, and re-assign it to yourself.
- Once you have accepted the invitation, log into Bitbucket.
- Next, go to: https://bitbucket.org/lorainelab/. If your user has been added correctly, you will be able to see some private Loraine Lab repositories. You can tell they are private because there will be a padlock icon next to them in the listing. For example, see: https://bitbucket.org/lorainelab/super-private-repository-only-loraine-lab-developers-can-see.
If you are able to view the private repositories, add another comment to this ticket to let us know. If not, make a note of it and let the project admin know about the problem.
- Next, check to make sure you are added to the your Jira user groups. To do that, view your user profile. Log into Jira and visit this link: https://jira.bioviz.org/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=USERNAME, substituting your user name. You can also reach your profile page by clicking on the gravatar image representing yourself.
- The groups should be as follows: confluence-users, jira-developers, jira-testers, jira-users, and loraine lab.
- While you're logged in, please change your gravatar image to a "head shot" of yourself or another image unique to yourself.
If everything looks good in jira, make a note of it and move this ticket forward to Needs First Level Review.
Reviewers:
- Check that that the assignee has added their email address used to sign up for their bitbucket account as a comment on this ticket.
- Log into Jira and check that the assignee has uploaded an image to for their Jira profile.
- Check that the new user was added properly by trying to use the "@" feature when writing or editing a comment in Jira. if the new user is properly added to the group, they should now be one of the suggested options for the “@” feature.
- Confirm that they can see https://bitbucket.org/lorainelab/super-private-repository-only-loraine-lab-developers-can-see when logged in and that they cannot see it when logged out.
