Description
Situation: A user had previously asked if there was an easy way in IGB to use their ChIP-Seq peaks/summits data to output the nearest gene. This is something that is commonly done in ChIP-Seq studies.
The calculation would be to look at the user's input file (ChIP-Seq peak/summit), which would have location data for each peak. We would then compare the location of each peak to the gene annotation in IGB. The output would be a file with each peak and the gene that is closest to each peak.
Task: Investigate how/if this could be accomplished as a new IGB app.
