Revisit the design of the the "Application.java", and "IGB.java" classes

It seems the sole purpose of the abstract class "Application.java" is to hold functionality built on by IGB.java. Its clear the relationship is a violation of sensible OOP design, and we should spend time cleaning this up since it is at the core of the IGB application.
