      Description

ttnhe issue that I am having is that if I type in a gene in the quick search box, I may see my desired gene in the quick search drop-down box and I can select my gene to navigate to my desired location but instead of navigating to the proper location IGB navigates elsewhere.

      To reproduce:

      1) Open the human genome and type "TTN" (the largest known human gene) in the search box.
      2) You will see TTN displayed in the quick search drop-down box. Select it.

*Observe: IGB navigates to the "CTTN" gene even though I clearly selected "TTN".
The actual TTN gene can be found here:
      chr2:178,490,651-178,842,762

Note: If you attempt to search for "TTN" from the Advanced search tab rather than the Quick search box then IGB navigates to the appropriate location.

This issue has been tagged for the 8.4.5 minor release. When we go ahead with the release we need to inform the user from HELP-144 who brought this to our attention.

We still need to notify the user having this issue once we incorporate this fix into a release. For now I will put this in the blocked column until we make a plan to incorporate this into the release.

            Testing for this issue included:

-Verifying that the quick search box navigates to the proper gene when selected from the drop-don menu.
-Verifying that there are no other adverse side effects related to quick search or advanced search because of this change.

Since this issue is resolved it will now be closed.

A few days after I created this story a user reported the same thing in HELP-144.

We should notify this user once we fix this bug.
