      Description

      1. Launch IGB.

      2. Open a test.egr file in IGB. The test file can be found in the source code for IGB at genoviz/trunk/genometryImpl/test/data/egr/

      3. The file should load correctly.

      4. Open the graph adjuster tab and try the options available after "selecting all graphs" and see if they work on the loaded egr file.

      5. Compare the step 3 with IGB 6.2 for to know if the file has loaded correctly.

I agree, if they are old and not used anymore, it's okay not to fix it.

          From Gregg Helt:

"I'm pretty sure .egr is a legacy file format, and no longer in use anywhere. And I think .egr is actually another name for the .sin format, which is described in JavaDoc comments in com.affymetrix.genometryImpl.parsers.graph.ScoredIntervalParser"

I will be putting that information in the manual as follows "The egr/sin format is a very old format; IGB supported this format while it was in use."

That way, if they don't look right, we are ok, but don't have to worry about MAKING them look perfect... Is that OK with you Hiral?

You try opening file in other browsers and see what they look like.

The test files give some strange behavior (I get 1 track for just the name, 1 track for the name.egr with marks in it, and a track of joined graphs). Select using graph adjuster only picks up 1 out of the three tracks and changing the colors does nothing to the FG except in the label.

I don't actually know what to expect with this file type. Do we have any actual example files as opposed to the 'test' files so we can properly test out this file type?
