Select parent of a short read with a deletion is lost if right-clicked (even with shift)

select one side of a short read with deletion. Right click to access select parent. Parent is now selected. If right clicked again to access the menu options, selection of the whole parent read is lost. If shift is held down while right clicking, the 'parent' is lost, even though the two segments are still selected. This is obvious if 'open in sequence viewer' is used - it says 'multiple selections cannot be opened; the selection info indicates 2 items selected rather than 1 parent.
