Description
This improvement idea was brought up to me by a user who wanted to know the length of certain introns.
Currently in IGB if a user wants to know the length of an intron then the easiest way to do it is to drag along the sequence axis underneath the intron, manually edge-match their selection with the intron (very high chance of errors), and then look at the selection info to see the length of their selection.
It would be much better if a user could drag on the intron itself and make a selection right on the intron. This behavior could be applied to other features as well such as exons, etc.
Another idea would be to add a score field (length) that would display above each intron to show the length of each intron. If this is possible and were introduced it would allow a user to quickly determine the length of introns accurately and with minimal effort.
