      Description

To use a consistent voice in the IGB User's Guide the IGB team has decided to follow the guidelines outlined in the Microsoft Manual of Style.

On page 5 of the manual it says to avoid please except in situations where the user is asked to do something inconvenient or if the software is to blame for the situation. Use thank you when users have provided information that is inconvenient to collect.

The page above contains a sentence that reads, "Please follow the instructions below to properly set up your Quickload site within a Dropbox folder."

We could just take out the word "Please" from this sentence.

It seems that our uses of "thank you" in the user's guide are appropriate.
