Description
While testing to load a custom genome I found a bug in the Data Sources Tab in the Preferences Menu when loading a synonym file.
To re-create the bug:
2. the synonym file, chromosome.txt, was loaded into IGB: Configure > Data Sources Tab > Chromosome Synonym File
3. immediately close Preferences Menu
3. restart igb
4. Check for the Data Sources Tab under the Preferences Menu.
Tested on IGB 8.5.2 on Linux and Mac
In order to get the tab back we had to re-set the preferences to default under the Other Options Tab in the Preferences Menu.
Attached is the synonym file that was used.

Tested on the development version IGB 9.0.0 on Linux. The bug looks fixed. I tested to check if the custom genome data could be viewed correctly and the Data Sources Tab was available to the users after restarting IGB.
1. loaded the chromosome.txt file in Configure > Data Sources Tab > Chromosome Synonym File
2. restart igb
3. load the custom sequence.fasta and sequence.gb files
The files loaded into igb and could be viewed correctly. The Data Sources Tab was available to the user.

This issue has been retested for the 8.5.3 release and it is good to go.
This bug is now resolved on the master branch. Please test to confirm you can no longer produce the issue.
