After looking through Cytoscape wiki pages and issues, I came across this page which gives step by step instructions to set up Cytoscape App store on VM :
https://github.com/cytoscape/appstore/wiki/Steps-to-Setup-Cytoscape-Appstore-on-VM
Note: The above page which describes steps to install is still in progress (not merged to master in their codebase). Also work on it was stopped a month ago.
The environment is Ubuntu and it uses apt-get package manager to install the requirements.
I tried executing those steps in ec2 instance (Linux AMI) but it uses Yum package manager and I encountered few errors while installing some dependencies.
I created a VM on my local with Ubuntu OS and tried the same steps again. The commands are getting executed correctly. I think all the dependencies are being installed properly.
However, the app uses haystack package for searching and there is an error associated with the version support of it with django.
There is no proper documentation on how to link database to the application and the configurations associated with it.
I have tried cloning both master and wip branches.
