Description
The new genome dashboard is super cool! It's really fun to see all the genome pictures and click on them to load the genome into IGB.
However, there are a LOT of genomes. Sometimes I don't want to scroll all the way through all the pictures to find the one I want, even though I really enjoy looking at the photos of plants, animals, and microbes.
To make it easier for users to find the genome they want, let's add a dynamic search at next to the title.
Could we do this?
When a user starts typing the name of something, all the pictures that might be a match could dynamically move up the page. Or maybe a better option would for the images that are not a match could disappear? If we do the latter, the user would simply have to type increasingly many letters to narrow the choice sufficiently to find the thing they want.
Note that I'm adding this to the current sprint but probably it is too ambitious to be finished before Friday, when the sprint ends!
A quick note for Sameer Shanbhag:
I don't expect you to do this in the small amount of time you have left on the job before leaving for summer. But if you have time to suggest implementation options, that would be very welcome!
When you return in fall I hope you will continue adding new things or better still implement all-new dashboard style applications for controlling IGB!
