      Description

We are looking forward to your poster/demo at BCC2020, which will take place online through the Remo.co platform. Like Zoom, Remo is a videoconferencing platform, but it offers a much more conference-like experience via virtual “buildings” and “tables” at which participants can interact.

      Locations for Poster/Demo
We are setting up a dedicated poster/demo event space in Remo (a virtual building with multiple floors). Every poster/demo will be assigned to a virtual table at which up to eight attendees at a time can gather. The poster/demo building will be open to all attendees for the whole duration of the conference. You should therefore consider putting up some information material on your poster/demo table for browsing, similar to a poster on display at a physical conference (see below). We will open up the poster event space in about a week (watch for another email) to allow poster/demo presenters preparing their tables.

      Poster/Demo Session
There will be one 45-minute poster session per day per hemisphere. We have assigned you to one of the sessions in your preferred hemisphere (or both, if you specified that option)--these assignments are now available at https://bcc2020.sched.com/overview/subject/Poster-Demo. Please let us know if you have issues with your poster/demo session assignment, or if you’d like to present your poster live in both hemispheres (check the schedule with your local timezone set to see if that works for you). If you are already presenting in both hemispheres, you have the same number and table in both.

During your poster/demo session(s) you can use video, microphone and text chat to communicate with visitors who come to your table (similar to a mini breakout room in Zoom). You can also use screen sharing to demonstrate software, flip through a slideshow or browse through a PDF.

      Display during Conference
Every table has a whiteboard that can be used to display a variety of information material, such as text, images, PDFs, slideshows and video. This can be prepared in advance and will be available throughout the whole conference, which means that your project will get potentially much wider exposure than just through the poster/demo sessions. We have prepared a short video and a slideshow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjjPpl_J118) that demonstrate some of the many useful features available through the whiteboard.
