Description
Funding for the IGB project expires June 2021, so we are preparing a grant application requesting more funding to continue supporting and developing IGB.
To help make the case for why continuing the IGB project benefits science, we need to collect testimonials from users describing how they have used IGB.
In addition, we need to get a better sense of what experienced IGB users would like us to do during the next period of funding.
For this task, update the spreadsheet (created by Jay during his summer internship) with any newly published articles that cited one of the three IGB papers. (See IGBF-2392)
Next, contact the corresponding author(s) and the first author(s) to request a letter of support. For each group of authors contacted, keep track of the correspondence using a Google Drive folder set up by [~aloraine]. Also, for each contact, you'll "cc" [~aloraine] and include her in the discussion – this is key because it shows that we are super serious and sincere about getting people's help and feedback.
When you start, please consult with [~aloraine] about the process. We need to be sensitive to the fact that people are very busy, but, at the same time, IGB is available free of charge, so it is not too much of an "ask" to try to get some feedback and support from people whose work has benefitted from being able to use IGB.

[ Absolutely. Versus waiting until next week to get started, would you like me to split my time between the on-boarding and this ticket each day?

[ When you are finished with the on-boarding issues, could you help with this?

[~aloraine],
All letter drafts from 2020 papers are completed and moved to "Needs Review" in the google drive folder: 'Contacting Users'
The 'How do biologists use IGB in their research? ' document is also complete for the papers published in 2020.
Note: There are a couple of papers which cite IGB, but in the body of the paper actually reference IGV. Those letters have been left in "In Progress". I can go in and delete them if you would like.
