Description
Situation: After exporting svg images from IGB, users have had issues with the resulting svg including very long horizontal lines that make the image difficult to view. It appears that IGB is including glyphs that span the entire chromosome in the svg file.
To replicate in IGB:
Open the Arabidopsis A_thaliana_Jun_2009 genome.
Navigate to chr1:8,688,527-8,689,303
Under available data, select RNA-Seq > SM > Graph > Pollen, coverage
Click Load Data.
Save an image as an svg Main View
Open the svg file in an svg editor (inkscape is free).
Note the long horizontal lines present as part of the graph track.
This is not a new issue as I can replicate it back to IGB 8.0.0
Task: Investigate why these horizontal glyphs are being drawn in IGB and if there is any way to prevent them from being drawn.
