          Description

          Situation: While investigating IGBF-3130 we noticed that IGB was reaching out to https://bioviz.org/igb/releases/current/updates.xml on startup. This URL is provided in updates.properties within the Update plugin of IGB. Our initial thought was that the process of checking for updates was part of Install4J and not part of the IGB code.

          Task: Investigate what the Update plugin within IGB is doing. Is it required for checking for updates? Is it legacy code that can be removed?
