Description
Situation: Phytozome/JGI provides many plant genomes. It appears they have added an API to their data.
Task: Investigate the Phytozome/JGI API - https://data.jgi.doe.gov/ - in order to determine if we could create a new data provider similar to UCSC in order to integrate more genomes with IGB. The API would need to provide a list of available genomes, the ability to request parts of the genomic sequence, and the annotation (genes).
If it is feasible to use the API to add Phytozome/JGI genomes as a data provider to IGB, update this ticket to be an epic.
