      Description

Please read this message (quoted) from Prof. Palanivelu:

      Hi everyone,

I will represent our GTTR group and present a poster at this year's Annual PGRP awardee meeting.

The meeting will be held on Sep. 5 and 6, 2024. I want to complete the poster by Sep. 1, in time for this meeting.

I want to follow last year's approach of providing an overview of the four aims (plus Broader Impacts) and our progress on each one. Last year's poster can be found in this Google folder dedicated to the 2023 meeting in the GTTR drive:

      https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oFISK1ZvGCBX07Muig8YUadpEzK4eQQu?usp=drive_link

If you have content from your group that you would like me to include, please let me know, and I'll add it to the poster.

Could you send me this information by Aug 26, 2024 (two weeks from today)? This will give me sufficient time to use them to prepare the poster.

      Thanks
      Ravi

          Update:

          • I send Ravi an invitation to edit / share the google page. I'm not sure if he noticed / received it. I need to follow up.
          • Followed up with an email:

          Hello,

I hope your day is going great so far!

Rob and I made a document (google doc) with potential content for the NSF Awardee meeting poster.

Would you mind checking the link? I just want to make sure you at least can view the document.

I added your email address (rpalaniv@arizona.edu) as an "editor" on the document using the google docs interface, but I'm not sure if that is enough to give you access.

You could try this link to echk: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KOA7x5aFeMpy3t5AuLlZx9KDhWAMqhFWad9UG5AqkOw/edit?usp=sharing

If you are able to see it, would you let me know?

          Thank you so much!

          Ann

Context for the above email: I worried my google-doc-generated invitation email somehow got mis-routed since the recipient email address is not a google domain address.

          Moving to DONE for now.

We need to draft an email to Ravi today and provide the bits that we have.

the 2023 poster is here for reference:

          https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LuXEXOud1IX3z2vfEDF-nP0VLCPIJm6l/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=100714234126361751017&rtpof=true&sd=true

I feel like an image and a caption makes for good contribution units that can be squeezed in some place.
We have a few in the Google doc a few comments up.

Updated the IGB section to include the Supp. figure from Anthony's are paper where he uses IGB to highlight the point mutation in ARE. This might be a good visual for the poster.

I made a doc to hold the pieces that we can share with Ravi.

If we put the figures / blurbs here, we can point Ravi to here.

          Reply to Ravi:

          Hi!

          Just a head's up:

My lab is working on providing some graphics for the poster.

Since you mentioned Sept 1 as being your deadline for completing the poster, we'll pick August 25 as our "Loraine Lab" deadline to send you our materials. This will leave enough time for you to request revisions, as needed.

          Warm regards,

          Ann

          He says:

Thank you Ann and it sounds like a great plan.

I think we ought to provide a candidate panel for the 2024 poster. I don't know what we should present, but here are some ideas!

          • Description of the genome browser data resources with a cool coverage graph
          • Description of the de novo assembly investigation
          • Maybe include a track in the genome browser visualization that shows an example transcript alignment, with tracks for the read alignments used as inputs

I feel like we can make a good case for why our section needs to get a lot of real estate on the poster because we are at the end of the project, basically. We are responsible for the "data deliverables" which "come due" now and next year. So it makes sense (I think) that we ought to highlight all of that in the poster.
