Situation: The NCBI Primer app (https://bitbucket.org/lorainelab/ncbi-primer/src/master/) can be added to IGB via the App Manager, but the app is currently unusable in its current state. There's no search box for entering a sequence from IGB to the primer creation parameters, and there's also no search button to send actually send of the input from the Primer Options tab to NCBI. Further, there are a lot of options being displayed that just don't make much sense to include with the app right now.
Task: Mockup specific UI design changes that should be made to the Primer Options tab to make this a functional, releasable app.
- Add a "Get Primers" button or something similar so that information can be sent from IGB to NCBI.
- Cut down on the text/customizable parameters being displayed to the user in the Primer Options tab.
- Instead, introduce a button that says something like "More options..." which, once clicked, opens a window (similar to ProtAnnot) where a user can set these parameters.
- Add a search box/feature that would allow a user to copy/paste a sequence from the genome they're viewing in IGB.
- Format any results returned by NCBI as a table (or something similar) displayed by IGB.
