This not throwing an error, but it is still a problem. You should NEVER be able to access the Sequence Viewer without first selecting something. Currently you can "View Genomic Sequence in Sequence Viewer" from the view menu. You can use it without even selecting a species (a rolling bar with 'start abstract sequence viewer' starts and does not stop. If you have a species with autoloaded track and use it withOUT selecting a glyph or region, then it will load all sequence, but never open the viewer. Can we just disable the function if nothing is selected?

Still the other issue. Start IGB, select homo sapiens. Do NOT select anything in particular, use the "View Genomic...". It will load all sequence within view, it will "start abstract sequence viewer" but the bar will never stop rolling. Is it trying to show an entire chromoome sequence in the sequence viewer? There has to be some kind of check for the size of the sequence it is trying to display... Or you should not be able to "View..." without selecting something first.
