Description
A user from Asia recently had an issue when exporting SVG files. The exported SVG file would not open on the program she was trying to use (Inkscape).
The issue could not be reproduced on our computers, however, Nowlan examined the issue further and it turns out the the SVG file being used by the user contained "strange" foreign characters for the DATE when looking at the SVG file in a text editor (see attachment and LOOK AT HIGHLIGHTed TEXT).
Replacing these letters with a date in English solved the problem, but...
...oddly, putting the foreign characters string in the DATE space of an SVG file generated on our computers did not cause a break in functionality (the SVG file would still open!!).
This should be examined further to determine what is stopping the SVG files from opening in Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape (for the user).

If the problem can be reproduced we should look into alternative SVG libraries.
