Investigate IGB certificate dialog box option selection problems

    Details

      Description

One of the IGB users from Beijing faced an issue with the IGB certificate dialog box. The screen froze as the message appeared about certificates and she was unable to click on 'Yes' or 'No' options on the dialog box (Screenshot attached). The details of the OS and IGB versions are as follows:
      Windows 10 - IGB 9.0.1 and above.
She was able to use lower versions of IGB properly.

      Hi!

Would you be able to check that IGB can run on Windows 10?

I am talking with a user from Beijing and she has had a problem with a message about certificates.

What happens is she sees a dialog (attached) but she can't click "yes" or "no" at all.

The problem starts after IGB version 9.0.1. Earlier versions show the same dialog, but she is able to click on them."

Another user located in Sweden (see linked ticket) observed a very similar problem on his Mac computer. Also see attached for screen capture and email correspondence.

            From Yuxiao Guo:

"The bug has been fixed and IGB is working! On both my friend's and my laptops!"

Problem was due to mis-configured Web site. Needed to add this line:

            • SSLCertificateChainFile /etc/pki/tls/certs/server-chain.crt

server-chain.crt is a chain certificate coming from the provider we used to issue our SSL certificate for the site.

For the next step, we need to find out why the dialog shown on Windows and Mac computers was not clickable. This could be a bug with the install4J software or it could be a bug with our software. However, now that we know the root cause of the problem, we may be able to now reproduce it and then investigate the behavior of the dialog. Leaving this in the "To-Do" column for now.

No-one has been able to reproduce this. Moving to Done.
