Following the steps in the linked wiki page, there is an error at step 7 ("Under preferences, in the data access tab, add the synonyms.txt file as a personal synonyms file.")

• After restarting IGB, the "A_new" species entry has an associated genome.
• Additional note: there doesn't seem to be a way to remove a personal synonyms file from the data sources configuration. Deleting the path to it in the 'data sources' panel and restarting IGB results in the path reappearing.
• Tested on macOS 10.15.6
• IGB 9.1.4 has this same issue

Please confirm on windows and linux to rule out a macOS-specific issue. Remember to reset preferences and delete the ~/.igb/ folder (something else on windows)

Synonyms appear to be working correctly.

I tested multiple times, and the only issue I could identify was that when the user adds a version synonym file to the Personal Synonyms the prompt to restart IGB does not always appear.

Everything looks good.

Had a conversion with Dr. Nowlan Freese and he said that the issue was not replicated consistently. So, haven't labeled this as a bug and also a Jira ticket was not created. Moving the ticket to closed.
