      Description

A user has contacted us to request a feature for navigating peaks in data, quickly and easily.

Many labs are working with ChIP-seq and use genome visualization to check peaks. They start by zooming to a gene of interest and look for peaks nearby. The useful feature would be a button to navigate directly to the next or previous peak (without having to zoom-out, look at track, zoom-in).

This would be a tremendous usability enhancement for users trying to locate peaks.

I personally imagine that the user will have to specify the minimum size for a peak and then IGB can navigate to each peak that has a value greater than or equal to the minimum value when the Peak Navigator button is clicked. I will be sure to also add additional details from the user to the comments as we communicate about this story.

From user: When working with ChIP-seq we visualize the results of the peak calling, which have been generated with MACS2 and exported (and imported in IGB) in bed format, so there is no need to further filter the peaks.
